Faith No

Man

In 1981, Bay Area California musicians Mike "Puffy" Bordin, Billy Gould, Mike Morris, and Wade Worthington formed a band called Faith No Man. A year later when Worthington was replaced by keyboardist Roddy Bottum, and Mike "The Man" Morris was ousted, the group began calling themselves Faith No More. It was at this point that they began to suck fucking cock (some have insisted that this is due to the inclusion of Roddy Bottum) and went all funk and shit, but for that all too brief moment in time, that one glorious year, they were the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the known universe. This slight page is a tribute to their struggle.

The song and how they sang it:

1981 Billy Gould, Mike Bordin, Wade Worthington and Mike "The Man" Morris form the band Sharp Young Men which soon after was renamed Faith No Man since the former name was "too hokey." They release one single "Quiet in Heaven" (B-side "Song of Liberty") with both songs written by Mike Morris and produced by Matt Wallace.

1982 Wade leaves the band after the band's first gig and is replaced by Roddy Bottum. Roddy, Billy and Puffy get along well, but start to hate Mike Morris because he tried to run everything. They therefore kick him out (Or: Bill, Puffy and Roddy all got along well with this collaboration, yet they all had a problem with the singer. He was older, bossier and tried to dictate how they should dress to suit his vision of the band. So as a polite means of firing him, the remaining three quit.). Billy Gould is suggested by his friend Will Carpmill (member of the band Systems Collapse) that they should call themselves Faith No More, since Mike "The Man" Morris is no more (in the band).

But whatever became of "the man"?? And is it any surprise that no pictures of Faith No Man currently exist? I don't think so..I heard a rumor that when pretty-boy Mike Patton joined the group, the band had all Faith No Man promo pictures burned.
